Case Study 1

My visit to the Crossrail garden.
`I have been a resident in Stepney for 45years. Going to the Crossrail garden was my first trip with Stifford. This visit was a great idea we had so much fun and it was a great way to relax with other residents. We all walked to lime house DLR and went to canary Wharf. It felt like a school trip I was very excited. Being with other residence I was pleased to know them much better and now I feel more confident around my neighbours. I was isolated in my home I didn’t like to meet people I was afraid of trusting the wrong people. But this visit changed my perceptions about people around me. A fantastic garden and it is a quiet place to rest in the midst of the busy canary wharf to escape a busy life at home. The garden had different and interesting plants we sat around it and was able to talk to each other and even shared food. I will recommend everyone to see the garden.`

Case Study 2

My voice heard at the meeting.
`I always like to take part at meetings I want people to hear my voice. Am a resident at jubilee street for a few years now. I attended a meeting at Stifford centre there was a large of us residents there to be heard. I felt part of a community and a team to work together to make changes. I am very frustrated with the council still not improving their system. Overcrowding is still an issue for us. I am living in temporary accommodations and requesting for a permanent place. I spoke at the meeting about my difficulties I face being overcrowded. I didn’t realise there was other people in the same or similar situation. This was a great way to talk to everyone about what we can do and get support from our group members.`
